When I started creating the cover, i went out and took a few photographs of a medium close up shots, so that i had a few to choose from. I then editted the picture by cropping it, and the fence behind the person on the picture had writing on it so I used a clone stamp to remove this, i used this picture as the girl is smiling and happy so people will see this and want to be associated with her. I then used the name of the magazine that i had thought up to use humour and create a sense of relaxation and association as people tend to associate relaxing and have a break as having a cup of tea on their break, I then created a cover line ' With a spoon full of sugar!' as this can be associated with the musical Mary Poppins, as in the song from the musical it is 'Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down' so this can make people think that this magazine is an easy to read magazine, but also has humour. From the results of the questionnaire I decided to use a price that I thought was acceptable and that people would be able to afford. I decided to use alot of colour and brightness on the front page as to attract the reader so they could see that theres alot of fun in the magazine. I used the phrase 'Just like marmite, you either love it or you hate it' as its well known phrase and stands out. I put the other piece of writing 'Latest gossip, New and stories all brand new' in a bright pink colour, and made it stand out with 3D effects. Lastly I used the college logo to show that it is a college magazine and linked with it.
The part of the cover and contents page that i think is successful is how I added alot of colour and made it stand out, also of how I linked up the title with the pictures and with the contents aswell. I think I was less successful with the font that I used and that if I had more time I would have editted the font further to be a more funky font what suited the magazine, as i have used alot of different fonts with this. I have learnt how to use and have a better understanding of photoshop and how to use different tools like the stamp.
