Research

To start the research, we created a questionnaire to give to the pupils at college to see what they would like to see, with both open and closed questions we thought that we could get a real insight. When we got the results from the questionnaires, we compared the answers they gave to us, so we could see what they wanted in a college magazine. This is what i found;

  • Most people wanted to see gossip in the magazine
  • Alot of the people wanted to get the magazine monthly.
  • Most people wanted the magazine to cover music rather than other facts and then of this to cover pop music.
  • Most of the people wanted the magazine to be chatty and interact with people.
  • More people would want the college magazine to be colourful and a little bit more expensive.

Before this I did an analysis of another student magazine, which i took some ideas from to create my cover and contents page.

Your Prelim Task work is solid and creative. Well done. Your written account of planning could be developed a little (you say "the first ting I did" and then go on to say "before that I" - which doesn't make sense! Plan your writing before you actually write it!

Also, you need to realise that "a lot" is 2 WORDS (not "alot") and that "I" needs to be capitalised.

Your products show that you have made good progress in learning Photoshop skills - they are creative and pretty well achieved, though some room for mor develoipment (eg using black for the font colour on your multicoloured cover "menu" looks a bit samey).

Good work overall; well done!
